2012 RFS Bike Econorun (31st)
2012 RFS Bike Econorun Newsletter 2
Well the good news is that the fuel price may come down again, but the bad news it will never be low enough again. THAT is a very good reason to test your bike on the 2012 RFS Bike Econorace er I mean Econorun, which is confirmed to take place during the weekend 17-18 August 2012.
We are planning to run the same format and classes as last year, but in addition to the cash overall first price we also plan a bonus price, the format will be explained to you in a next news letter. Just be aware that a certain amount of observance during the run will be required which will add to the excitement.
We will again start from the RFS HQ in Magalieskruin in Pretoria, (not Tshwane yet) and end up at best hotel in Hazyview, the famous Fick’s Hotel Numbi. We always end there ‘cause the reception, the food, the tariffs, the roads, the beer, the hospitality, the service is the best.
The RFS Crew will again welcome us as last year with a dinner during documentation on Thursday evening, and there will be accommodation available close by with complementary transport to and from the RFS dinner when your bikes are parked after the initial fuel up in the Parc Ferme.
The fuel price plays havoc with our budget, but we will do our best to keep the entry fee as close as possible as last year, which of course includes all fuel consumed, accommodation and food during the weekend.
As the regular competitors know, there are classes for all types of bikes, pillions etc and it is GREAT fun, the bikers that think this is a slow crawl will get a pleasant surprise. Then of course we don’t event talk about the parties, the good spirit (s) and the fun we all have during this weekend.
Save up, put your leave request in with the boss and join us, we are waiting to entertain you on the best roads in ET and be assured, with Doc Heine and his merry men with the white toolboxes is attendance, you will have a safe trip.
Regulations will be available shortly, please watch this space as well as ‘Oom Simons’s BARKSA and the official RFS BER website.
PLEASE diarise the 17/18the August for the most fulfilled bike run in SA, the RFS (Retirement Fund Solutions) Bike Econorace. You will hate yourselves if you missed it this year.
Kind regards,

Dear Fellow Bikers
Since I recently re-located to the Western Cape, I might be retiring from sponsoring and managing the Econorun web site and photography. Let Francois know if you're interested. Hetzner's, the web site hosting supplier where the Econorun web site is currently hosted, charge a monthly fee of approx R199 and the overhead of taking photographs. The web site is running Joomla 1.5x Content management to post articles and the likes.

Stefan Olivier
2012 RFS Bike Econorun Newsletter 1Good day to all my Biker friends, We congratulate the RFS Racing team on their overall win on the last Absa Off Road Championship race last Saturday, when they won the race sponsored by the same team. They worked flat out to convert the car from a diesel to petrol driven power unit and could only drive the car for 5 kilometers before the event. The crew and fellow bikers, veterans Hannes Grobler and navigator Hennie Ter Stege, won the first event of the year as well.
