2009 RFS Bike Econorun Newsletter 4

Good day to you All,

Well finally the election fever is over and we can continue with our lives, hopefully the new government will guide us on a prosperous road and we can keep on riding our bikes daily on well surfaced roads without any potholes or abusive people in four wheel wagons abusing us on two wheels.

We have received sad news about one of our oldest supporters, Bruce Meyers which is very ill. Our prayers and best wishes goes to him and Wendy and we trust he will have a speedy and full recovery..

We have had so far a good response for the entries on the Econorun, however the “laatslapers” must better enter soon please as we are filling up the spots rapidly.

We are also going to feature some riders in the TV programme intensively and need to select them soon. We want to do a feature on their preparation, daily lives, the bikes that they ride etc. This will obviously mean a lot to the rider’s sponsors as well. We are striving to make the TV programme even better and we are using the suggestions put forward by a lot of you over the last couple of years.

Please get those entries in, we also need to finalise figures for the accommodation.

If you are not sure about what bike you are going to use you may supply those details later.

You may also make use of our offer to do the payments in two instalments.

I am looking at the entries received now and at a glance I miss a lot of the regulars, to name but a few:

Denver Biggs, Reg Gurnell, Peter de la Rey, Alan Dougherty, Koos Olivier, Wayne de Beer, Alan Shout Deon vd Berg, Francois du Plessis, Steve Lilford, Chris de Witt, Abri Marais, Gerhard Schutte. Arnold Lawrence Meintjes, Daan Hugo, Brett van Bergen, Grant Scott, Dave Carroll, Wimpy van Aardt, Doc Heinne, Johann Schonfeldt, Arrie Straus, Thinus Janse Van Rensburg, Kobus de Jager, Ezanne Marais, Ian Humphries, Deon du Toit, Owen Basson, Clive Flemmer, Sarel vd Merwe, Clive Strugnell, Francois and, Judy Rudolph, Thys Fourie, Wiese Top, Justin Seager, Jan Swanepoel, Ian vd Walt, Noel Gibson, Wessel Venter, Rick Cooper, Conrad / Elmarie Bakker, Jan Steinberg, Neil Smith,  Wilmarie Janse Van Rensburg. Hennie ter Stege,  Andre Schoeman, Adrian Buc, Sean James and Arnold Olivier.

Where are the Suzuki entries?

Please do not despair if I did not mention your name here, just sent your entry to us chop-chop please.

Entries close on the 31st of May, please ensure that your entry is in before then.

There are quite a few newcomers and we welcome them all.

Thanks for all the input received by many of you, to name a few, Brian Stobbart, Bruce Joelson Rupert Culwick and Clive Strugnell.

We are using a new “Rural Route” which will differ from the previous years, it should be very interesting and a good test as usual.

We are looking forward to meet with you all again, do not forget that the documentation takes place in the form of a breakfast at the PMC Clubhouse on Sunday 28th June where the road books will be distributed and all documentation issues be finalised.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries.

Regards,

Francois and PMC Team.
